Dr. Timothy Murphy, DPM, founded Bay Podiatry, LLC in 2000, providing podiatry and pain management services along the Alabama gulf coast, with locations in Spanish Fort, Saraland, and Tillman's Corner near Mobile. He did not grow up planning to become a foot doctor; after earning a degree in communications and starting a career in medical equipment sales, he met a podiatrist who encouraged him to enter the field. Dr. Murphy studied premedical coursework at the University of California, Los Angeles, then attended podiatry school in Cleveland, Ohio for five years, and completed his residency at a veteran's hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He chose Southern Alabama to start his practice, and the office treats bunions, corns and calluses, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis, and ingrown toenails, offering diabetic foot care and foot and ankle surgery.
