Sam Caine, DPM, FACFAS is a board-certified foot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgeon with Ortho1 Medical Group, serving patients across San Diego, Carlsbad, and Coronado, California. A Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, he completed an intern year at Boston Medical Center followed by a three-year advanced surgical residency at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle, gaining broad experience with lower extremity trauma, sports injuries, and complex reconstruction. Dr. Caine's clinical interests include Achilles tendon repair, ankle arthroscopy, ankle ligament repair, joint replacement and arthrodesis, limb salvage with wound care, and minimally invasive surgical techniques, along with advanced training in total ankle replacement and deformity correction using external fixation and 3D printing. He favors a team-based approach, working alongside the practice's orthopedic surgeons and therapists to educate patients and build individualized treatment plans for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions.
