Catherine Cheung, DPM, FACFAS operates a small private podiatry practice in the Lower Nob Hill area of Central San Francisco, having transitioned there after several years within a large healthcare organization. Dr. Cheung's own path into podiatry began after she experienced foot and ankle pain as a recreational runner at UCLA and later underwent extensive surgical reconstruction herself, which shaped her patient-centered, conservative-first philosophy. She is double board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both foot surgery and rearfoot/ankle surgery, and her practice specialties include injury treatment, custom orthotics, bunion surgery, and general foot and ankle care, with particular experience treating collegiate athletes. Dr. Cheung has served as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and has lectured and published on topics including bunions, arthritis, and ankle arthroscopy; she was named Best Podiatrist of Marin by the Pacific Sun in 2017.
