Dr. Cortez specializes in compassionate care for elderly, disabled, and hospice patients who have difficulty leaving home, performing comprehensive foot, ankle, and lower leg exams using portable diagnostic tools. The service places particular emphasis on diabetic foot care, including annual diabetic foot exams and coordination with patients' primary care physicians to help prevent complications such as diabetic neuropathy and related wounds. Dr. Cortez also treats ingrown and fungal toenails and corns and calluses, referring patients to specialists when needed. With more than 30 years of experience, the practice accepts referrals from hospice care providers and works directly with patients and families to make routine podiatric care accessible for those who are homebound.
