Dr. Nathan Ecklund is a San Luis Obispo native who grew up in Templeton, California and graduated from San Luis Obispo High School in 1993. He attended Cal Poly State University, where he played quarterback on the football team while earning a bachelor's degree in biology, then enrolled in the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, earning his doctorate in podiatric medicine in 2004. He completed a three-year podiatric surgical residency at St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco, finishing in July 2007, and returned to the Central Coast to start his practice, North County Podiatry Group of Templeton. Dr. Ecklund is trained in foot and ankle fracture repair, diabetic limb salvage, and forefoot surgery, treating plantar fasciitis, neuropathy, ankle sprains, fractures, tendonitis, bunions, and hammertoes, offering diabetic foot care and sports medicine.
