Delaware Total Foot and Ankle Center opened in Lewes, Delaware in 2019, when Dr. Joseph Wendolowski relocated his podiatric practice after 18 years in New Jersey. Dr. Brendan Kane, board certified by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, joined the practice in 2023 after training at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a level II trauma center. Dr. Wendolowski, board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, favors conservative treatment first and reserves surgery for cases that don't respond to nonsurgical care. Together they treat ankle sprains, bunions, corns and calluses, diabetic foot concerns, hammertoes, ingrown toenails, plantar fasciitis and heel pain, toenail fungus, and plantar warts, using approaches that range from bracing and orthotics to radial shockwave therapy, laser treatment, and podiatric surgery when appropriate for adults and children in southern Delaware.
