Raised in Staten Island, New York, he was inspired by his grandfather's experience with diabetes to pursue medicine, earning his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completing surgical training across four New York City hospitals. During the September 11 response, Dr. Fried treated first responders and civilians at St. Paul's Cathedral, and he later completed a reconstructive residency in Georgia. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and is affiliated with JFK Medical Center and Wellington Regional Medical Center in Florida.
