Dr. Richard M. Allen has practiced podiatry in Lewiston, Idaho for nearly 30 years and describes himself as the city's only board-certified podiatrist, certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. After earning his degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine and completing residency training at the University of Utah Medical Center and the Veterans Medical Center, he built a practice offering in-house digital X-rays and custom-made orthotics alongside a conservative, surgery-as-last-resort philosophy. Dr. Allen treats ingrown toenails, heel pain and plantar fasciitis, sports injuries, toenail fungus, diabetic foot complications, fractures, bunions, hammertoes, arthritis, ankle sprains, neuromas, plantar warts, and flat feet, and performs foot and ankle surgery when conservative care isn't enough. He is affiliated with the Lewis Clark Outpatient Surgery Center and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, and has served on the Idaho State Board of Podiatry as well as the Idaho State Podiatry Association.
