Active Podiatry, led by Dr. Yong S. Chae, DPM, FACFAS, provides foot and ankle care to Crawfordsville, Indiana and the surrounding area. Dr. Chae completed residency training in Chicago with a focus on wound care, biomechanics, and reconstructive foot surgery, and he is certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and affiliated with IU Health Methodist Hospital and Eagle Highlands Surgery Center. The practice treats bunions, hammertoes, flat feet, heel pain, ankle sprains, arthritis, calluses, corns, warts, ingrown and fungal toenails, and neuromas, with options ranging from in-office procedures under local anesthesia to outpatient surgery such as bunion correction and ankle arthroscopy. Diagnostic and treatment tools include in-office digital x-ray, laser surgery training, digital orthotic scanning, and platelet-rich plasma therapy. Active Podiatry also offers custom orthotics and a diabetic shoe program, accepts Medicare and Medicaid, and provides same-day appointments for urgent issues such as ingrown toenails when available.
