Bowie Foot & Ankle has served the Bowie, Maryland area since Dr. Howard Horowitz established the practice in 1986, bringing a holistic approach that views foot function in relation to whole-body mechanics. Dr. Horowitz holds board certifications in podiatric surgery, podiatric orthopedics, wound care, and pedorthics, and currently chairs the Podiatric Surgery section at the University of Maryland Regional Surgery Center in Bowie. The practice treats heel pain, foot and ankle pain, bunions, hammertoes, ingrown toenails, sports injuries, fungal nails, diabetic foot concerns, and Achilles tendinitis, using tools such as gait analysis, onsite ultrasound soft tissue imaging, and digital X-ray bone imaging. Both radial and focused shockwave therapy are available for chronic orthopedic conditions, alongside custom foot orthotics and bracing. An in-office surgical suite, paired with a same-building surgical center and blood testing, allows much of a patient's care to be completed in one convenient location, with telehealth visits offered as well.
