Foot Care Center has served Fremont and Columbus, Nebraska since Dr. Charles M. Halverson, DPM, FACFAS, moved to the area in 1991, later opening a satellite office in Columbus in 1994. Board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, Dr. Halverson treats bunions, heel pain and plantar fasciitis, ingrown toenails, and diabetic foot conditions, discussing both conservative and surgical options with each patient. He fits custom shoe inserts for arch pain and heel discomfort, and serves as the foot specialist for Fremont Health's Wound Center, primarily managing diabetic wounds alongside other complex cases. Dr. Halverson holds privileges at Fremont Area Medical Center, Columbus Community Hospital, and St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, and has been active in Nebraska podiatric leadership, including service on the state Board of Podiatry and as a past president of the Nebraska Podiatric Medical Association. The practice, originally founded by Dr. Larry Lefler, continues to see patients from both its Fremont and Columbus locations.
