LEAP Alliance is a Las Vegas, Nevada based organization focused on preventing diabetic foot complications, directed by podiatrist Lawrence M. Rubin, DPM. Rather than operating as a treating practice itself, LEAP Alliance coordinates the Bare Your Soles free diabetes foot screening program in cooperation with area Lions Clubs, connecting community members with participating podiatrists around Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada. Foot screenings offered through the program are brief exams designed to identify circulatory problems, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and other issues that can lead to serious lower-extremity complications if left unaddressed. Podiatrists associated with the program, including Denise Tropea, DPM and Leonard Franklin, DPM, see patients at their own private practices for screenings and follow-up care. LEAP Alliance states that it does not itself provide medical services and is not responsible for the care delivered by the independent practices and providers listed through the program, functioning instead as a referral and awareness resource for the community.
