Mohawk Valley Podiatry serves patients from offices in Schenectady and Fultonville, New York under Dr. Robert C. DiCaprio Jr. and Dr. Cailin Makar. Dr. DiCaprio, a lifelong area resident trained at Fordham University and New York College of Podiatric Medicine, is a board-certified foot surgeon and fellow of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, with particular expertise in custom orthotic therapy for athletes. Dr. Makar, a Niskayuna native trained at Montefiore Medical Center, is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. The practice treats heel and arch pain, ingrown and fungal nails, athlete's foot, ankle sprains, Achilles tendonitis, shin splints, warts, corns and calluses, hammertoes, bunions, fractures, neuromas, and soft tissue masses, along with diabetic foot evaluations and pediatric patients. Orthotics are individually cast in-house, and the practice is affiliated with Ellis Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital.
