About Stephen Christopher Heisler
Stephen Heisler, DPM, MHSA is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. His clinical focus areas include wound healing, foot and ankle surgery, deformity management and correction, reconstructive surgery, and treatment of diabetic Charcot foot deformities. Dr. Heisler holds board certification in foot surgery from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, earned in 2022, and is qualified in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery as of 2023. He completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Barry University and a Master of Health Services Administration at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. As part of the UNC Health academic surgical faculty, Dr. Heisler contributes to patient care within the UNC Wound Healing and Podiatry Center, working alongside vascular surgery colleagues to treat complex lower-extremity conditions for patients throughout North Carolina.
