About Dr. Benjamin Harkess

Dr. Benjamin Harkess practices podiatry at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, where he joined the medical staff in 2018 after training in Chicago and completing a residency in New York City that included additional work in dermatopathology and Ilizarov external fixation. Originally from Edmond, he is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and serves as Podiatry Section Chief for Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Dr. Harkess specializes in limb salvage, bunion and hammertoe deformities, plantar fasciitis, and arthritic foot pain, and describes a strong preference for conservative treatment measures before considering surgery. He also has a particular interest in the biomechanics of cycling and how equipment adjustments can improve comfort and reduce injury risk for cyclists.
