He completed a three-year surgical residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, training with orthopedic and podiatric surgeons specializing in ankle, rearfoot, and forefoot reconstruction, and passed his boards to become board certified through the American Board of Podiatric Surgery for forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle reconstruction. Dr. Schroeder was trained in diabetic foot care, wound care, and sports medicine, and also completed rotations in orthopedic surgery, radiology, general surgery, emergency medicine, and vascular surgery.
