Northeast Family Foot Care has served the Bustleton section of Northeast Philadelphia since Dr. Amy B. Lustig, DPM, opened the practice in 2001 to fill a need for welcoming, family-oriented podiatric care. The office treats patients of every age for ankle sprains, bunions, flat feet, hammertoes, heel spurs and plantar fasciitis, corns, athlete's foot, and toenail fungus, alongside arthritic foot and ankle conditions and Achilles tendon problems. Diabetic patients receive dedicated foot care given the added risks that reduced circulation and sensation can create. Dr. Lustig favors conservative treatment such as shoe inserts, custom orthotics, taping, injections, and physical therapy, reserving surgery as a last resort, and the office maintains on-site X-ray capability for diagnosis. Beyond core podiatric medicine, patients can also access nail and callus trimming from a licensed pedicurist, an option the practice recommends for those whose circulation or diabetes make salon pedicures risky.
