Dr. Hans Blaakman graduated from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut with a degree in biology, then attended the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, now the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, graduating in 1992 and receiving the Stanley David award for outstanding proficiency in the clinical sciences. He continued his medical and surgical training at Carney Hospital, an affiliate of Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts, and practiced over 10 years in Bedford, New Hampshire before relocating to South Carolina, where he now practices at Upstate Footcare in Spartanburg. He is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Foot Surgeons, treating bunions, plantar fasciitis and heel pain, and toenail fungus.
