Scenic City Podiatry is the Chattanooga, Tennessee practice of Dr. Loyd W. Witherspoon, who entered solo practice on Gunbarrel Road more than 20 years ago after working with other area podiatrists. A former U.S. Army chief of podiatry who reached the rank of Major, Dr. Witherspoon received certification and fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery along with advanced trauma and cardiac life support instruction during his military service. The practice treats plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammertoes, heel spurs, ingrown toenails, corns, calluses, warts, fungal nails, sports injuries, and Achilles tendonitis, and manages diabetic wound care and foot maintenance to help prevent complications like ulcers and infection. In-house X-rays support diagnosis alongside palliative care and surgical intervention when needed. Dr. Witherspoon moved to Chattanooga in 1990 and has served the Tri-State area continuously since founding the practice, working with most major insurance plans for patients throughout the region.
