Dr. Samuel Straus is a Board Certified Foot and Ankle Surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, seeing patients at Appalachian Orthopedics' Johnson City, Tennessee office as well as Elizabethton. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, he attended Christopher Newport University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in cellular, molecular, and physiological biology, then completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Straus completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency training at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, and delivers comprehensive care for diabetic foot care, minimally invasive bunion correction, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis, deformity correction, total ankle replacement, arthritis management, and fracture care. Outside of practice, he enjoys soccer, skiing, running, and going to the gym.
