James Handy, DPM, FACFAS provides podiatry services at Premier Family Physicians' Bastrop, Texas location. Raised in Houston as the son of a U.S. military father and a Greek immigrant mother, Dr. Handy earned his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from the University of Houston before pursuing graduate studies in microbiology and immunology and attending the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. He completed a postgraduate residency in Texarkana, Texas, focused on primary medicine and reconstructive surgery, and was subsequently recruited by Smithville Hospital to practice in Bastrop. Dr. Handy now sees podiatry patients within the Premier Family Physicians network, which also includes family medicine, internal medicine, and nurse practitioner providers across the greater Austin area.
