He earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Kent, Ohio. Dr. Azer completed a three-year surgical residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in Houston, focusing on reconstructive surgery, forefoot surgery, trauma, and diabetic wound care, with a special interest in sports injuries of the foot and ankle. He has been a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association since 2009, and the American Society of Podiatric Dermatology and the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons since 2011.
