Heel & Sole Foot & Ankle was founded by twin sisters Dr. Shayla Robinson and Dr. Kayla Robinson, DPMs, who returned to their native East Texas to open a practice serving Lufkin and Jacksonville. Both are board-qualified in foot surgery and active members of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Texas Podiatric Medical Association; Dr. Shayla Robinson completed her surgical residency at Emory University School of Medicine and contributed as a co-author to a leading foot and ankle surgery textbook, while Dr. Kayla Robinson trained in Detroit and served as chief resident before returning home. Together they treat heel pain, bunions, hammertoes, ingrown toenails, diabetic foot concerns, nerve pain, arthritic conditions, foot fractures, and chronic ankle instability, specializing in diabetic foot care, wound care, and reconstructive surgery alongside sports-related injury treatment. The practice accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and a range of commercial insurance plans, emphasizing clear communication and personalized, evidence-based treatment plans for patients across East Texas.
