Southeast Foot Care has served San Antonio's southeast side since 1997, when Dr. Wilburn Thomas established the practice in what was then a medically underserved area. A board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a U.S. Navy veteran, Dr. Thomas built his career around diabetic limb preservation, reconstructive foot surgery, wound care, and sports medicine. The practice treats a broad spectrum of conditions, from plantar fasciitis, arthritis, and tendonitis to bunions, hammertoes, fractures, and severe joint pain, using both conservative and surgical approaches. Diabetic wound and ulcer management is a particular area of focus, supported by debridement, advanced dressings, and offloading techniques aimed at preventing amputation. For complex cases, Dr. Thomas performs inpatient hospital-based surgery in coordination with vascular and infectious disease specialists. Treatment options also include custom orthotics, physical therapy, and regenerative medicine.
