About Dr. Luz Lopez

Dr. Luz Lopez was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and originally graduated with a medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo in 1996. She later attended podiatry school at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, graduating in 2004, and completed three years as a surgical resident at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Dr. Lopez is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and a member of the International Foot & Ankle Foundation. In 2004 she started a charity providing foot and ankle reconstruction to Dominican people with severe deformities, and she received special training through a U.S. Navy tropical medicine course, with hospital affiliations at Swedish Medical Center and Overlake Medical Center.
