Senior Footcare Inc. has provided preventive foot care to older adults throughout Tacoma and the South Puget Sound region since 1981, when founder Nancy Betschart recognized a need for compassionate, nursing-based foot care for seniors. Today the family-owned practice is led by Nancy's daughter Tosha, and its team of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses each month cares for hundreds of patients at the office, in retirement communities, and through home visits. Services focus on routine maintenance such as toenail trimming and filing, care for thickened, fungal, or ingrown nails, and gentle reduction of corns and calluses, paired with an assessment of circulation and skin integrity that a cosmetic pedicure would not include. This nursing-informed approach is especially valuable for clients managing diabetes, poor circulation, arthritis, or limited mobility, where safe, careful nail care can help prevent injury and infection. When an issue requires diagnosis or advanced treatment, Senior Footcare refers clients to a podiatrist or physician for further care.
