About Steven Merckx DPM

Dr. Steven J. Merckx, FACFAS, FACPM, is a double board certified podiatrist practicing all aspects of medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle, with a special interest in sports medicine and biomechanics. An avid runner who has completed numerous half and full marathons, he enjoys helping athletes return safely to their sports. Dr. Merckx earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University Chicago before completing his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and a three-year surgical residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, relocating to Madison in 2001. He is a two-time President and current board member of the Wisconsin Podiatric Medical Association, and a longtime member of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.
