Wentz Foot & Ankle Specialists has served central Colorado from Salida since 1994, when Ralph Wentz, DPM, a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon, opened the practice on the campus of Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. His daughter, Jennifer Wentz, DPM, a fellowship-trained surgeon with additional training in trauma, arthroscopic ankle surgery, total ankle replacement, and limb preservation, has since joined the practice, seeing patients in Salida and at the Buena Vista Health Center. The team treats patients of all ages for plantar fasciitis and heel pain, fractures, bunions, hammertoes, ingrown toenails, gout, neuromas, arthritis, and Achilles tendon problems, offering both conservative and surgical care along with wound care, custom orthotics, and stem cell injections. In-office X-rays support prompt diagnosis of broken bones, and same-day appointments are available for urgent foot, ankle, and lower-leg issues. Most insurance plans, including Medicare, are accepted.
