Great Plains Foot and Ankle traces its roots to 1991, when Dr. Clinton Schafer founded the practice as North Platte Foot Clinic; Dr. Richard Raska joined him in 1993 and the two provided foot and ankle care to western Nebraska for a quarter century before the practice adopted its current name in 2015 with the addition of Dr. Josh Wray. Following Dr. Raska's retirement in 2025, Dr. Avery Mason joined Dr. Wray to continue the practice's work from its North Platte office and satellite locations across the region. The team offers both conservative and surgical treatment for bunions, hammertoes, ingrown toenails, fungal nails, plantar warts, corns, calluses, flat feet, arthritis, fractures, and heel and arch pain, along with total ankle joint replacement, minimally invasive surgery, diabetic foot care, wound care, sports injury treatment, pediatric foot care, and custom orthotics for adult and pediatric patients throughout western and central Nebraska.
