About Shanti Balkissoon-Castillo DPM

Dr. Shanti Balkissoon-Castillo grew up in Canada and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto before moving to New York City, where she earned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She completed her surgical residency in Tucson, Arizona, then worked alongside orthopedic physicians at Denver Health Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. In 2002 she found a position in New Mexico working with Dr. Kerbleski, and during that time she staffed a monthly clinic at the Acoma/Laguna Pueblo and volunteered weekly running a podiatry clinic for students at the University of New Mexico Student Health Center. She previously served on the New Mexico Podiatric Medical Association Board and volunteered at the Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless clinic. She has over 30 years of experience in podiatric medicine.
