Foothills Podiatry has served Shelby, North Carolina since 1932, when Dr. W.L. Mauney opened the first podiatry clinic in Cleveland County. The practice is now staffed by board-certified podiatrists Dr. Jeff Mauney and Dr. Ron Maskarinec, along with Dr. Gretchen Lawrence and Dr. Sruti Karwa, who together maintain surgical privileges at Cleveland Regional Hospital, Kings Mountain Hospital, and Cleveland Ambulatory Services. The office provides medical and surgical treatment for corns, calluses, bunions, heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, ingrown nails, cysts, bone disorders, and infections of the foot, along with orthotics and in-office vascular testing. Surgical correction is available for hammertoes, clawtoes, bunions, fractures, and ruptured tendons and ligaments. Foothills Podiatry accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and nearly all commercial insurance plans, continuing a family legacy of podiatric care that now spans several generations of providers in the Cleveland County community.
